Multiple $5,000 Awards to Support Students Studying Architecture, Engineering, Other Building Envelope Fields
WADSWORTH, Ohio (Nov. 15, 2019) — Industry advancement means more than producing new products, completing challenging projects and developing fresh technologies; it also requires investing in those who will create the improvements.
SOPREMA, Inc., a leader in the roofing, waterproofing, wall protection and civil engineering waterproofing industries, created the SOPREMA Scholarship as a commitment to the next generation and its continued success and growth in the building envelope industry.
The SOPREMA Scholarship grants $5,000 awards to students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture, engineering, construction management or similar building envelope fields at accredited four-year colleges or universities.
ELIGIBILITY
- High school seniors or graduates or current postsecondary undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or a similar field*.
- Planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire 2020-2021 academic year.
*Similar field must be applicable to those seeking a career related to the building envelope (i.e. roofing, wall systems, below-grade waterproofing, etc.). Exceptions will be approved by SOPREMA.
AWARDS
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to four (4) awards are available. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin.
SELECTION
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
- academic record;
- demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities;
- honors;
- work experience;
- essay;
- and an online recommendation.
Financial need is not considered.
