Career Background

In total, I’ve spent 29 years in the construction industry, including many years of customer service-related positions, even before I joined the construction industry (fun fact: I was a nursing student before coming into this industry). I started with USG International as a customer service representative for the export department, and sold drywall and ceilings, before moving into management to open up our order center in Schiller Park, IL. Then I went to work for L&W Distribution as Assistant Manager/Operations/HR (I wore many hats there). A better opportunity arose, and I went to work for Vinyl Corp. as Inside Sales Manager, and was eventually promoted to National Sales Manager when Clark Dietrich purchased Vinyl Corp. I then came over to the roofing side nine years ago with Allied Building Products (now Beacon), and found my way home to SOPREMA almost seven years ago. I started as the Customer Success Manager (covering only South Florida) and moved to Regional Events & Meeting Manager, handling Florida and working with the Corporate Events Manager in the national events meeting team. I lend a hand where I can to the BES locations in Pompano, FL, Doral, FL and Carrollton, TX.

Current Job Responsibilities

Mostly, regional and national event planning, which includes large and small trade shows, our National Sales Meeting, the Mammouth Club outing, and customer cruises, which includes agenda, programming, logistics, transportation, and everything that goes with an event. There are also plenty of open houses, SOPREMA Days and even last-minute events.

Trade show planning includes scheduling, furnishing, booth set up and tear down (for regional shows), lead retrievals, etc.

I’m also heavily involved with associations in the region, which means volunteering, evening hours, happy hours, events, board positions, branding, AIA Lunch & Learns or sales reps events.

We also host BES events, which include personnel scheduling, samples, contractor training, and facility scheduling.
