Flores De La Playa, located in Satellite Beach, Florida, is a six-story ocean front condominium complex offering visitors direct beach access. In September of 2017, this building was one of the many damaged by Hurricane Irma. Hurricane Irma was one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded, hitting Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, it devastated many cities.
When selecting a product to re-roof the building after the storm, it was important to select a product that would be able to withstand the impact of future tropical storms and hurricanes. The system that was selected included a base ply of ELASTOPHENE® SP 3.0 with 350 PSI lightweight concrete applied on top and SOPRALENE® 180 PS 3.0 with a cap sheet of SOPRALENE Flam 180 FR GR. To adhere the base and cap ply together, COLPLY® EF Ribbon Applied was selected. COLPLY EF Ribbon Applied was the perfect solution for this project due to its superior adhesion qualities and that it offered material cost and labor savings qualities.
Bel-Mac Roofing Inc. selected these products because of their long history partnering with SOPREMA and the proven quality of the materials. The single component adhesive can be applied in multiple bead or in a single bead and is extremely user friendly. Working with SOPREMA also ensured that they would receive excellent technical support throughout the project and customer service in coordinating deliveries.
