Carrick High School – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Carrick High School, one of the Pittsburgh Public Schools, has over 750 students enrolled and a full team of dedicated faculty and staff. Their mission is to prepare students for continued education, work and other training opportunities. In addition to their normal curriculum, the school offers students a variety of Career and Technical Education programs to further train them in areas such as Business Administration, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Information Technology and more.

In 2017, Carrick High School’s roof was ready to be replaced. It was decided the best option was to tear off the previous roof and start fresh. Due to the relationship the architect, HHSDR Architects / Engineers, has with SOPREMA, the system that was selected to replace the previous roof included: SOPRA-ISO®, SOPRABOARD®,  SOPRALENE® Flam Stick and SOPRALENE FLAM 180 FR GR.

This project is unique because it called for a 52’ x 52’ school logo to be included on the roof. To complete the logo and provide a low maintenance option, ALSAN® RS products were selected. The logo is composed of ALSAN RS 276 Primer, ALSAN RS 230 and ALSAN RS 289 Textured Base with color additives. Not only does the school now have a low maintenance, long-lasting logo, it also holds a 20 year warranty.
