York Elementary School – Raleigh, North Carolina

In 2020, SOPREMA provided a wide range of materials for the new construction at York Elementary School in Raleigh, NC, part of the Wake County Public School System. Though not in the original specification for below-grade waterproofing solutions, waterproofing contractor J.T. Murphy Construction helped persuade the design team to choose SOPREMA to benefit from the single-source warranty and compatible tie-in details for the entire building enclosure, including wall and roofing products as well.

Thanks to the invaluable benefit of SOPREMA’s extensive product line, the team was able to circumvent multiple raw material shortages. When base sheet fasteners were not available to start the roof application, they switched to COLPLY® EF adhesive. Another change was made when liquid waterproofing was not available, prompting a change to SOPRASEAL® Stick VP to finish the walls.
